Environmental Justice & Sustainability Unconference

Posted under UTERN News

Environment-Flyer-3
This unconference will be an opportunity for U of T students, staff and faculty who are passionate and interested in various aspects of sustainability, to meet each other, to share ideas, to explore opportunities to collaborate, and to synergize around sustainability actions at U of T and beyond. The Unconference will be organized as an open space: a process where participants create the agenda by proposing and facilitating the discussion of issues or actions that are meaningful to them; an open space process allows for a diverse group to share the space in a relaxed, inclusive and purposeful way.

The goal of this gathering is to channel the large amount of energy and dedication of individuals, campus organizations, existing networks, committees and departments toward building relationships and engaging in a cross-pollination of ideas that will enhance our current actions. The unconference will also be an opportunity to learn new ways of doing and being so that together we work toward strengthening environmental justice and sustainable practices at U of T and beyond!

Gearing up for EarthCycle

Posted under UTERN News

It is still summer time and UTERN is booting up for a great green year of environmental awesomeness.

In a planning meeting for EarthCycle: “Earthcycle is more than an attempt at moving the earth. We are the de facto alternative to your daily study routine. Drop the textbooks and pick organic vegetables. Forget the GPA and fetch your bicycle. Street theatre, lectures, critical mass and a a car free St.George Street. A multitude of earthly festivities for the earth and for all who cycle.”

UTERN.org!

Posted under UTERN News

UTERN has moved! We are now officially at utern.org and not at utern.sa.utoronto.ca. This means nothing to most people. But, in the long term, it will mean better services from us as a website, to student groups, and to each other.

Now that the piping is installed, we’ll be working on a new look over the next few weeks.

UTERN is moving from utern.sa.utoronto.ca to UTERN.org. We’ll be able to provide bigger and better services after the switch. On the practical side of things, this means:

  • You don’t need to update your bookmarks: utern.sa.utoronto.ca will still take you to UTERN.org. (Though any subpages will need to be corrected)
  • As of this posting, utern.org doesn’t work, as we are presently in a transition period. We’ll update this page when the new site is finished. utern.org will send you back to utern.sa.utoronto.ca in the meantime.
Got any suggestions or questions? Drop us a line.
