<p>A facilitated discussion around food justice issues with University of Toronto student groups currently involved in food campaigns, initiatives or services on campus. The event will serve as a networking opportunity for participating groups to learn about each other’s initiatives, share resources and best practices, and perhaps form new partnerships.</p>
<p><strong>♣ Bike Tune-up Workshop, presented by Betty &amp; Dash and the UofT Sustainability Office “It’s Greener in Here” Campaign! 3pm – 4pm, Basement of Goldring Student Centre</strong></p>
<p>Betty &amp; Dash is a bike share program at Victoria College that promotes students biking around campus by lending out their collection of bikes! Betty &amp; Dash will be hosting a spring tune-up workshop where students can learn some general maintenance tips for their bikes, especially as we are headed out of winter! The event aims to promote biking as an alternative to driving or taking transport.</p>

<p>A day-long retreat at Hart House Farm, featuring activities such as a nature walk and winter tree identification, as well as discussions about the importance of local and seasonal foods through a workshop led by Dig In Campus Agriculture. We also aim to look at the ways in which different faiths or belief systems may approach the idea of ecology and the environment through our aforementioned activities.</p>

<p>This opening event features keynotes by Liz Rice (Enviro-Health Presentations) and Daryn Caister (Green Majority) followed by a panel discussion. The topic for the panel discussion is &#8221;21st Century Environmentalism &#8211; Actions and Roles of Youth”, it focuses on exchanging dialogues about community developments, ideas and innovative methods that we can do to tackle environmental and sustainability issues. The event is free of charge with refreshments served at the end.</p>
<p><i>A bit of background about our keynote speakers: </i><i>In 2013, </i><i>Liz Rice was</i><i> in the audience receiving trained by Al Gore, the staff, and expert team at The Climate Reality Project to deliver the CRP presentation</i><i>. She will be presenting on the Climate Reality Project&#8217;s &#8211; &#8220;The State of the Climate&#8221;. </i><i>Daryn Caister is the owner and operator or </i><a href="http://greenmajority.ca/home/about/" target="_blank"><i>Green Majority Media</i></a><i>, as well as host and director of the Green Majority radio program on CIUT 89.5FM.</i><i>​ In his keynote, he will talk about nontraditional activist theory and how to be more effective as envir</i><i>onmentalists.</i></p>

<p align="left">For the 2014 Environmental Career day you will again be able to talk with exhibitors from organizations representing government, industry, consulting and ENGO&#8217;s. Attend the <strong>Environmental Employment Opportunities Workshop:</strong> <strong>&#8220;What I Need to Know to Get a Job!&#8221;</strong>, and hear from speakers with extensive career experience and expert career advice. Get expert advice, including about your resumé, from the U of T Career Centre at their table.<strong> </strong></p>
<p align="left">For organizations, the Environmental Career Day event is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase yourself, as well as advertise career, internship, co-op and/or volunteer opportunities to a wide audience. For students, Environmental Career Day will allow those interested in pursuing environmental careers to have an opportunity to start early and develop marketable skills, experience and contacts.</p>
