This unconference will be an opportunity for U of T students, staff and faculty who are passionate and interested in various aspects of sustainability, to meet each other, to share ideas, to explore opportunities to collaborate, and to synergize around sustainability actions at U of T and beyond.
The goal of this gathering is to channel the large amount of energy and dedication of individuals, campus organizations, existing networks, committees and departments toward building relationships and engaging in a cross-pollination of ideas that will enhance our current actions. The unconference will also be an opportunity to learn new ways of doing and being so that together we work toward strengthening environmental justice and sustainable practices at U of T and beyond!

Earthcycle (Environment Week) is an entire week of events at the University of Toronto centered around the themes of our environment, cycling and climate change.

The schedule, from Sept. 21-26, includes Free films, lectures, and fun events, including Car-Free Day on Sept. 22 and a talk with the world’s leading experts on carbon sequestration on September 23rd.

This is the biggest and most ambitious Environment Week ever. There will be many opportunities for students to get involved in issues ranging from renewable energy to Copenhagen climate talks to water justice to biking and eco-art, and much more.

For a complete schedule go to earthcycle.ca and check out our facebook page

Get involved: If you can volunteer your time and energy to this important cause – educating your fellow students on the necessity of environmental activism – get involved! We NOW meet every WEDNESDAY to plan the event. Meet at Bikechain (bsmt of ISC, 33 St. George Street) at 6pm

UTERN has moved! We are now officially at utern.org and not at utern.sa.utoronto.ca. This means nothing to most people. But, in the long term, it will mean better services from us as a website, to student groups, and to each other.

Now that the piping is installed, we’ll be working on a new look over the next few weeks.

UTERN is moving from utern.sa.utoronto.ca to UTERN.org. We’ll be able to provide bigger and better services after the switch. On the practical side of things, this means:

You don’t need to update your bookmarks: utern.sa.utoronto.ca will still take you to UTERN.org. (Though any subpages will need to be corrected)

As of this posting, utern.org doesn’t work, as we are presently in a transition period. We’ll update this page when the new site is finished. utern.org will send you back to utern.sa.utoronto.ca in the meantime.

Got any suggestions or questions? Drop us a line.
